Maipo Valley, Chile
In the heart of the Maipo Valley, the story of Besoain Wines unfolds with a narrative steeped in tenacity and a relentless pursuit of excellence. In 2004, the journey commenced with humble beginnings – a 2,500-liter vat filled painstakingly by hand with a bucket, and a mere 9 barrels personally selected and toasted by the skilled hands of Miguel Besoain. Fast forward 17 years, and Besoain Wines has transformed into a vinicultural force, boasting a capacity of 60,000 liters and 250 barrels. From selling wines to acquaintances and friends, the winery now extends its reach across four continents, regularly exporting its creations, and even establishing a branch in Germany.
At the helm is Miguel Besoain, an oenologist shaped by his training at the University of Burgundy, France, and a decade of experience in France and Germany. In 2009, he returned to Chile, driven by a profound vision – to breathe life into the family vineyard and fulfill his dream of crafting high-class wines. Miguel's hands-on approach is a distinctive hallmark, as he dedicates himself to maximizing the raw material at every step of the winemaking process. Whether it's the iconic Besoain Estate, the premium Single Vineyard Besoain, or the excellent value Los Morros, each bottle encapsulates the essence of Chilean wines, meticulously produced on a small scale. The winery, governed by a committed team adhering to Franco-German methodology, stands as a testament to exceptional quality in every vintage. The international recognition garnered by Besoain Wines from esteemed juries is a testament to the passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment that defines this remarkable winemaking journey.
